Many consumers don't believe you really earn a commission but do believe "real estate agents don't do anything, but open doors?" This course is writing to combat that statement. It will outline your responsibilities to the consumer and how to communicate your worth to the consumer in the transaction. This course should also help answer the question "they stole my buyer/seller!" by demonstrating a procuring case . Instructor for this class is Ginny Willis. As a strong believer in Education she has earned over 12 designations or certifications. Ginny started her teaching career in 1981 as a pre-license instructor and later as a pre-license, continuing education and REBAC instructor. Ginny has served as 1996 President of the St. Clair Association of REALTORS®, 2013 President of the Birmingham Association of REALTORS®, Regional RVP and numerous State and National Committees. Presently she is serving as a Director for the Alabama Association of REALTORS® and The Birmingham Association of REALTORS®. She is a National Entitlement Director for National Association of REALTORS®. Ginny has received numerous honors including the 2014 REALTOR® of the Year for both the Birmingham Association of REALTORS® and the Alabama Association of REALTORS®, 2015 Robert Jemison Award, 2016 Birmingham’s President Cup, and most recently the 2017 Harriet Isaacson Excellence in Education Award, and is a member of the Omega Tau Rho. CONTINUING EDUCATIONEvery two years a total of fifteen (15) clock hours of continuing education prescribed by the Commission is required for renewal of an active license. These hours must be completed by September 30 of every even year (except for 2020 – CE deadline extended until December 31, 2020 due to Covid-19). The fifteen-hour continuing education course requirement is as follows: • (a) Three (3) clock hours in Risk Management – Level 1 In this level, brokers and salespersons shall take the Risk Management: Avoiding Violations course. • (b) Three (3) clock hours in Risk Management – Level 2 In this level, brokers and salespersons shall take either the Risk Management for Salespersons course, the Risk Management for Brokers course, or an industry-specific Risk Management course approved by the Commission.• (c) Nine (9) clock hours in Commission-approved courses.
