DescriptionLocationInstructorsCancellation Policy Risk Management Level 2: For Salespersons Besides the topics studied in the required course, “Risk Management: Avoiding Violations” – Alabama License Law and Property Conditions and Disclosure – the salesperson must also be knowledgeable in the areas of Agency and Sales Contracts in practicing effective risk management. This course examines those topics and more from a risk management perspective. A working knowledge of the two courses, combined with an innate desire to do what is proper and right, will guide the salesperson through a career of trouble free sales and leasing. This class awards 3-hours CE with 100% attendance. You cannot arrive late or leave early and receive CE credit. This class fulfills the AREC mandate for Risk Management Level 2 required for Real Estate License renewal. The instructor for this Risk Management course is Chris Wood. Chris was a teacher for 7 years in public education as well as a coach for 17 years for high school football and wrestling before entering his real estate career in 2002. Once in real estate, Chris gained a vast experience in residential sales, new construction, relocation, and as a broker and owner of a real estate company. Having a passion for education has never left Chris’s blood. He has brought his passion from education together with the passion for real estate and absolutely loves teaching Realtors. Chris walks the walk and talks the talk by educating himself. He holds numerous designations and certifications, as well as has a coaching program he designed and coaches to agents with RealtySouth. CONTINUING EDUCATIONEvery two years a total of fifteen (15) clock hours of continuing education prescribed by the Commission is required for renewal of an active license. These hours must be completed by September 30 of every even year (except for 2020 - CE deadline extended until December 31, 2020 due to Covid-19). The fifteen-hour continuing education course requirement is as follows: • (a) Three (3) clock hours in Risk Management – Level 1 In this level, brokers and salespersons shall take the Risk Management: Avoiding Violations course. • (b) Three (3) clock hours in Risk Management – Level 2 In this level, brokers and salespersons shall take either the Risk Management for Salespersons course, the Risk Management for Brokers course, or an industry-specific Risk Management course approved by the Commission.• (c) Nine (9) clock hours in Commission-approved courses.
