Risk Management Level 2: For Brokers

Risk Management is all about you, the licensee, being able to make a good living selling or leasing real estate while staying out of trouble. The best ways to manage your risks are to know and obey Alabama License Law and to understand where and why legal complaints against you originate and how to minimize those complaints. Our goal is not how to win lawsuits but how to avoid lawsuits.

This class awards 3-hours CE with 100% attendance. You cannot arrive late or leave early and receive CE credit.
Participants on Zoom must give the instructor your undivided attention during the class.

This class fulfills the AREC mandate for Risk Management Level 2 required for Real Estate License renewal.

The instructor for this Risk Management class is Janet Hamm.

• (a) Three (3) clock hours in Risk Management – Level 1 In this level, brokers and salespersons shall take the Risk Management: Avoiding Violations course.

• (b) Three (3) clock hours in Risk Management – Level 2 In this level, brokers and salespersons shall take either the Risk Management for Salespersons course, the Risk Management for Brokers course, or an industry-specific Risk Management course approved by the Commission.

• (c) Nine (9) clock hours in Commission-approved courses.

CE CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY

All cancelations must be in writing prior to 48 hours of the day and start time of this class. Send cancellations to phillip@birminghamrealtors.com

No refunds for no-shows or cancellations received with-in 48 hours of the day and start time of this class.

CONTINUING EDUCATION
Every two years a total of fifteen (15) clock hours of continuing education prescribed by the Commission is required for renewal of an active license. These hours must be completed by September 30 of every even year (except for 2020 – CE deadline extended until December 31, 2020 due to Covid-19). The fifteen-hour continuing education course requirement is as follows:

SPECIAL NOTE: Any licensee who has not completed the CE requirement prior to October 1, 2020 will be able to continue taking the current Level 1 and Level 2 Risk Management courses to satisfy the CE requirement for the 2020 license renewal. This is based on the CE deadline being extended from September 30, 2020 to December 31, 2020 due to COVID-19.

As of January 1, 2021, any licensee who is taking CE courses to renew or activate a license MUST complete the new Risk Management: Contact to Closing course.
